It's been how long since I posted??? I was so pumped about creating a design blog, posted twice and then deserted it. What I have not deserted is checking out every ones blog on a regular basis. It's almost intimidating how many creative and wonderfully talented women that are out there in the blogworld. I have stalked many of your beautiful sights and feel like I know some of you....kind of scary when you think about it, huh? But don't worry, I'm harmless!! :)
I said I would post some pictures of my home and I guess I should start out by doing that first, so you can get to know me and my style a little. I have noticed something since seeing your homes and taking photos of mine....I'm way country in my style. I grew up with a mother who loved "old" things. She used to be into antiquing and setting up at flea markets and even dumpster diving after having a couple of glasses of wine with her bff. But I do love other styles as well and I have learned that about myself by seeing so many of your different styles. I think I've been a little intimidated to really let myself mix and match different styles. Trying to be too matchy, matchy! But I've learned that I can totally mix and match styles and colors. It's all about what you love that makes it beautiful and makes it home.
As I take pictures and post, I realize how many things I want to do and how many ideas I have in my head but haven't done yet. Someone once told me that you can be such a perfectionist that you don't get anything done. Simply because you want it done so perfect and in such a way, that it's almost unachievable....I think that is me. Somehow, I've got to figure out how to let that go and just do it!
This is the wall above our front door. My husband hung all my crosses for me this past Saturday for Valentine's Day. He knows my love language is acts of service.
This is the same room to the left of the front door. We call it the front room - it's main purpose is computer area for the kids. It was originally supposed to be a dining room but I wasn't too fond of that. The walls in here are about 18' - 20' high, so it's intimidated me a bit. I have so many ideas....(I know I must get rid of that $30 brass light fixture - I've got my eye on one at Lowes).
Same room as you are walking into my kitchen. The antique stained glass was a gift from my mom and I thought it would look good in this entry that was very tall. I hung the curtain over it, but am not too crazy about it and will replace it when I find another or some material that I love.
This is in my kitchen. Hubby bought me this cabinet when we moved in our current house 6 yrs. ago. I love it and it has matchy matchy bar stools to go with it! :)
Well, that's enough for one night. I've got to be sure and keep this up and also start "doing" and not let my perfectionism get in the way. It's probably what has kept me from blogging as well!

I'm all about the "acts of service" girl! Thanks for your comment...your profile says you're in Rowlett - that's only like 20 minutes away - you can come and do some acts of service here anytime! Laundry, cleaning baseboards, mopping.... ;)
I think your style is great! We all have different styles but we can definitely appreciate each other's. :) Love that stained glass and all those crosses!
